Yeh I think that if you have access to the first season, you should watch it. Only 8 episodes so it's pretty easy to catch up. It'll give you some background on the characters and the history between them. Then you'd know Patrick's overblown HIV Panic in the most recent episode is completely within his neurotic

If Kevin did planned the whole seduction, I hope he at least brought some condoms with him.

That''s definitely an interesting perspective to look at the show. One major difference between Kevin and Richie is indeed their social status: Kevin has his own Wikipedia page, while Richie cuts hair for a living. And Patrick, a wasp-y middle class guy, is caught exactly in between, and he can't help but feel

I do wonder, if Patrick and Richie did de facto ended their relationship tonight, how's Richie gonna fit into the next season? It's not like Richie shares anyone in the same social circle as Patrick.

As soon as Patrick agrees to meet Kevin at the office, I knew they're gonna have office humps… I just didn't prepare for Patrick to be bottoming for Kevin. In contrast to his stance on that with Richie, he just grinds his teeth and let Kevin in. Character development or just dumb patty being patty?

I know right. He even said himself: he is a (adorable, sexy, shamelessly flirty) nice drunk.

Watching Patrick finally confronting his overbearing mom and tearing through their dysfunctional family dynamic is very satisfying and weirdly cathartic for me in a very personal way that I didn't even know I needed.

Patrick has waaayy more restraint when it comes to Russell Tovey than me and that's pretty much all I have to say…

Maybe that's the point though. Normal people have unexciting boring office jobs. At least his job is "hip", not an architect.

Interesting you'd bring Bloody Face Sr. up. Do you think he and J-Groff parted on terms amicable enough to show up at the beginning of season 2 and take out Agustin?

Hear Hear! Hooray indeed,

Of course HBO would renew the show. It's getting tremendous critical acclaims (AV club included) and pretty great buzz in media. Also the ratings have been steadily growing upwards since the 2nd episode. BTW, if anyone is interested in seeing the actual data of the ratings, I have them on my fanblog: http://bit.ly/Look

Well she did get it on with some rando in the park… You go Doris!

Did you mean Dan Humphrey? Were you thinking about Don Draper? If so, I wanna hug you 'cause I finally found another person who watched Mad Men and Gossip Girl.

Yep. That's definitely an issue for a show that aims for authenticity and realism. Even Kevin would be flawless if not for being unavailable. As for CJ, well, I hope Agustin is paying him, which leads me to another suspense of belief: where the hell did Agustin the Unemployed Artist find the money to pay those $220/hr?

Plus, J-Groff's man ass.

I think Patrick is just trying to sound polite, as one would with a greeting message, so he is using a very soft voice, which somehow equals the gay voice if you're a man.

Agustin is single-handedly narrowing this game into Marry & Fuck and it certainly ain't cute. Hopefully the showrunners have something planned in the remaining 2 episodes to improve his character and plot (although the character has been basically ruined at this point).

So let's have a vote: Does Patrick's voice-mail greeting actually sound gay?
