I think I've read it here that Snyder's comic book movies make much more sense if you imagine he is actually illiterate, and he just superficially copies the panels of comic books without knowing their context or meaning.

I love Kingdom Come too! The scene where Superman finally returns after his long, self-imposed exile is one of my favorite comic books moments ever.
