Don't know about the Americans, but Broad City was 100% a bowling alley in the Bronx. Van Nest Lanes to be exact.

I'm pretty sure that was the same bowling alley as Broad City. It's in the Bronx and it actually still looks exactly like that. They also used it for the flashback scenes in Men In Black 3. Which makes it ironic that they are looking for Will Smith in that bowling in Broad City.
