Initially I thought Rusty was using the term 'kid' as a derogatory statement intended to belittle me. But then I reread it and now believe it was intended as an old-timey term of endearment toward the author of the article, sincerely praising his broad vocabulary and well-written article.
I was not trying to insult him. I am actually curious about the process of writers.
We all come to learn interesting words over time. And this is such a specific word that it simply makes me wonder how it found its way to him.

And I'm also curious to know which came first: Did the discovery of the word lead to the idea of this article or was he writing the article when the thought occurred that there must be a snappier term…
