I took the "one more person has to die" as a foreshadowing of a final face-off between Slade and Oliver. Only one comes out of that alive and perhaps Slade is hinting he isn't even sure who it'll be.

Opening of True Detective was brilliant. Especially haunting was the image of the highway interchange merged with Woody Harrelson's face. It looked like a face with the skin lifted away - a muscle and sinew wrapped skull. Oh, and the spiked heels and ass is a highlight as well.

Female Asia actors have to take work when they can get it . . . it's not like they can comb through a bunch of roles to cherry-pick the best ones because Hollywood and mainstream TV aren't writing many roles for them. And if you can't do a martial arts scene, the parts are even scarcer. How pathetic is that?

If Murphy and the writers get kudos for their progressive portrayal of gay characters, then it's only fair they are criticized for their lazy and stereo-typed portrayal of Asian characters. That shit could have pulled straight out of the 1970s minus a heavy accent.

Writers dropped the ball on Kitty and Lil' Puckerman. Those two could sing and dance. But their characters were written so thinly and as such awful personalities, that they damaged them beyond repair. Marley may be the least interesting character in the history of the show and her singing and dancing talent are not…

You have to think there's more to Rust's daughter getting killed, don't you? Clearly that had a life-changing effect on him and it hasn't been been brought up again even though so much of the show is about the fate of daughters, young girls and such.
