"Maria Callas used to proclaim her hatred for Canadians while squeezing the cream out of eclairs." This made my day!
Great list, BTW.

Good on Schwartz! Also, my eighth grade teacher showed us the VHS in 1985, and I found A Christmas Story on cable every year since. My dad would often call me after I moved out to alert me that "Peter Billingsley" was on channel whatever.

My kid is at a very hormonal age, and the characters on The Middle annoy her so much it's hard to hear the jokes over her yelling at them. Otherwise, great episodes!

Kliph Nesteroff's The Comedians.

For comedy history nerds, there is nothing better than Kliph Nesteroff's "The Comedians: Drunks, Thieves, Scoundrels and the History of American Comedy." I read it in a week and wished there was more.

That was heartbreaking.

She'll always be Kit Kittredge to me.

Me to. Cant figur it out.

You think you're better than me?

Or else Pizza's gonna send out for you!
Re-watched this with my hubby and 13-year-old daughter, having a "retro movie night." She enjoyed it, but doesn't seem to want to repeat it the way she did with Tommy Boy. Yes, I'm introducing her to the classics.

It was that "wild parsley" growing in the yard.

Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil by the Coen Brothers

Who's playing Lawanda Page?

My grandfather was also a white Fred Sanford type. RIP

So right about Spin City. I remember thinking—can we have a funny show about city hall that doesn't include silly jokes about sex and body parts every other second?

Poor Gummo.

Going to put in a recommendation for Go-Go Gophers. Culturally inappropriate dialogue aside, it was always funny, and the Native gophers always got the best of the white cavalry.

Thank you for recognizing the Angry Beavers! That show was the perfect mix of clever and silly. I never got tired of it. I guess I was in the minority, because it was gone too soon.

How about the toilet-paper-eyed people? WTF

I've seen episodes of the Flying House before, but holy crap, that time machine guy's eyes are horrific! And why would they show such a dream? What a weird-ass show.
