As a former newspaper person, I'll take the version from Lou Grant. And Henry Blake. I like fishing and goofing off.

Yes! That is my hate song! (Runner-up, "Brand New Key" for those who remember the 70's.)

Excellent article! I had no idea about this part of history, either.

Who is "You're So Vain" about?

I have the same reaction to The Strangler episode when he unknowingly tortures the Strangler just trying to get into his house (for hours, the show tells us), then says, "I'll just use the spare key under the mat."

A lot of great choices, but most recently I couldn't stop laughing at the old guy at the end of "Bernie" describing how redneck the people are in the county where Bernie's trial is held. "Those people drink warm beer with fried mudcat."

This is a realy well-written, interesting piece. I always enjoy your use of TV history. I remember enjoying the first season of the show because of the family dynamic and the sitcom structure. It's a bit too much of media over-saturation now.

I love the Wikipedia list of "TV shows often considered the worst." I learned all about the Canadian classic "The Trouble with Tracy" and became a little obsessed with it for awhile.

I loved Oh Heavenly Dog because I adored Benji and was a big English murder mystery fan. Otherwise, who the hell was this movie for? Everybody dies. It rains through the whole thing. Everyone is horrible to each other. Heaven is some kind of mid-level bureaucracy. I must have been starved for entertainment. I'll

Haven't white people been aping black culture since Gershwin?

The announcer sounds just like the 70s movie trailer guy! Is it his son? I love that voice.

I wish he'd make more "Back at the Barnyard" episodes instead.

The reruns came on every day after school, and I was obsessed with Wonder Woman! I had the swim suit, colorforms or some such toys, a coloring book, lunch box, etc. Wonder Woman and Samantha from Bewitched were my first girl crushes. It's hard to watch some of these episodes all the way through now because of the bad

Related to Adam Hicks? I guess I can look it up.

I agree. Also, she seems to actually have met and interacted with black and Hispanic people in her life. Sarah Silverman always comes across as someone who just likes to make jokes about people she doesn't understand.

I'm going to say this until I die: Somebody adapt my favorite book, "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" and forget about the 1990s version!

He had a beautiful guest starring role on Magnum PI where he was an old friend of Higgins who thought he was Sherlock Holmes. (Or did he?) Anyway, his performance was both funny and heartbreaking.

Those of you who can't get enough of the behind-the-scenes stories of obscure TV shows might also enjoy Bowie's recent post on "Lawbreaker(s)."

Those hormones can really heat you up!

Terrific description of what it's like to stumble upon a Lifetime movie, and a nice shout-out to Park Overall!
