Yes! I'm very much opposed to the "Everyone has to look like a model" school of casting, but if everyone else in the scene appears to have bathed and tucked in their shirts, you should too!

Reminds me of the time I decided not to put on my headphones to watch a weird Ellen Degeneres movie (with Tom Selleck or something??) on a flight but immediately slapped them on when they started playing an episode of The Addams Family TV show. Also, this movie sounds terrible.
June makes a great foil for Jason, and when she spouts theories, they can be pretty funny. But when she has never seen the movie before and admittedly had no interest in paying attention while watching it, I get annoyed quickly. In those cases, she comes across like a "cool" person who doesn't understand why you like…
Thanks to my fellow commenters I now follow this and We Hate Movies and have become a bit of a fanatic. I haven't tried The Flop House yet. Should I pick up that habit, as well?
I don't know if you plan to include anything from the now-legendary Canadian sitcom Corner Gas, so I'll recommend "Rock On," "World's Biggest Thing" and "The Littlest Yarbo." If you like them, you're welcome!
Crackle. It's a Larry Sanders fan's best friend.
My brain is hurting. There are too many. But, nice job so far!
I haven't watched a whole lot of Curb Your Enthusiasm, but I have to cast a vote for the one in which Ted Danson donates money to expand a hospital or museum wing in the name of "anonymous," but everyone knows it's him so he gets double credit for being such a great, humble guy. It's obvious only to Larry that he's a…
When I went back and watched this years later after enjoying it so much in the theater, I realized what an awful tool that Val character is. I literally winced through most of his scenes. The rest of it is so sweet and funny though, I can't write it off.
I think it was Larry Storch who invented the "Judy Judy Judy" thing because it sounded good with his Cary Grant impression. Feel free to store that in your memory and use it at moments like these.
I agree wholeheartedly. Most of the pop culture and Jewish stuff had me sighing way too much. Overall, though, I really enjoy this unique "comedy extravaganza."
Among all the stand-up comics who popped up on all those 80s and 90s specials, I always found Taylor's sets to be completely unique and memorable. I was always happy to see him turn up on TV and in movies, because I knew how clever he was. RIP
"Wake Me Up Before You Go Go" on 45 (with the instrumental version on the B-side!), followed soon after by "Shakin" by Sawyer Brown (anyone? anyone?) on LP. Lord, I'm old.
Completely agree.
It's surely a Gary Busey x 1000 situation
Exactly! I don't think I could control my curiosity as an interviewer. I would feel too much like a celebrity being interviewed by Dame Edna. After too many insults, you'd want to scream: "You're a fat Australian man who won't shut up!"
The comments are even better. AV Club is on fire today.
First time I laughed this morning. Thank you!
I really think it's a brain injury.
