Just PLEASE don't let it be Kris Marshall. So far they've all been white males but at least they've been interesting white males. Marshall's one of the most boring choices imaginable.

With 9, the show let her be selfish (which is great) whilst also being both critical and understanding of her selfishness. With 10, she's selfish but a lot of the time we're expected to side with her despite being wrong, which makes it comes across as more obnoxious.
Plus, the whole arc with her supposedly becoming

Yeah, it's basically perfect. They should bring Simon Nye back at some point. My only real issue is that they don't acknowledge Amy's baby when making she's making the choice to kill herself. I wouldn't have had a problem with her deciding to take the risk of killing it, it just seems unlikely she wouldn't even

Perfect.

Hearing a lot of complaints about Nardole being kinda redundant, in that he usually doesn't have much effect on the plot and easily could be removed without affecting much. While they (kinda) have a point, considering Matt Lucas' excellent timing and delivery, why would you want to?

I'm not a fan of the more zany, twee Capaldi, It clearly works for a lot people and that's fine but I thought Capaldi was at his worst when gurning and being quirky. He's a great actor and when in his wheelhouse, he's one of the best at what he does. But I just don't think he has the comedic range to pull off overly

Don't you mean Fambly?

When he's not constantly gurning and a bit more reigned in, he's amazing. A lot of people get on Matt Smith for being too manic but I think for most part, his performance is pretty well controlled despite often skirting on the edge of disaster. Tennant on the hand sometimes needed to be told when to stop.

It was a bit but in his and the episodes defense, he admitted as such to River later. I have no problem with characters being selfish provided it's acknowledged outwardly or otherwise.

That's a weird one because the scene itself is incredibly well written and acted but on the other hand; she basically just met this guy, they have no chemistry and as you say, she never consented.

FACE OF EVIL has the problem a lot of classic eps have, which is an excellent first three episodes and.a disappointing final one. CARNIVAL OF MONSTERS has the same problem. PLANET OF THE SPIDERS on the other hand, has the complete opposite problem.

Hate it when shows do this. Apparently self-awareness about lazy writing negates lazy writing. When it actually makes it more apparent.
"Hey, we know how stupid this is and how lazy we're being here but we're gonna keep doing it anyway."

People spent hours making Winona GIFs. What weirdos.

Always reminds me of this from NTNON:

So it's the Jerry of comedy routines? But without the hidden depths.

Also from the last episode, it puts Mary's initially confusing 'Go to hell' into context.

Like I said, that's probably expecting too much from a Christmas Special (that come on Christmas Day when people are drunk). But I wanted them to do more than just re-use tired superhero tropes and instead use the opportunity to do something interesting with them. You can do that and still be a bit light-hearted fun.

It is. I meant nowadays as a more general term for the later Moffat seasons.

It was okay. Fun but kinda inconsequential. Plays with a lot of the tropes without really doing or saying anything with/about them.
This could've been an opportunity to really say something about the nature of superheroes & The Doctor's role within them. It's possible I'm expecting too much from this but while I don't

Yeah I seemed to not like Kimmy Schmidt as much this year either. I think the horrible criticism episode may have been part of that.
