It's tough to say, because they have Monument Point south of Richmond, which isn't really within commuting distance of DC, unless you take a train and wake up at like 3AM every morning. But they've moved everything up north, so DC's like…in Maryland near the PA border, and…nothing is where it's supposed to be.

"Nuking 10s of thousands to give our heroes a moral dilemma seems just crazy, even from a narrative perspective."

Putin's licensing fee was probably too high.

Didn't Donna say it was Penny Lover?

There hasn't been any indication that anyone on Arrow knows Barry lost his speed (as far as I remember).

"Makes absolutely no sense and it just being used for Felicity character development makes it even worse."

Everything about the legal system, the electoral system, the business world in this show actually exist IRL, and those storylines also involve things not working the way they do in the real world. Laurel as a Star City ADA was trying Damien Darhk in Federal Court. The Queen family lost their billions because Oliver

It's a superhero show - it traffics in totally ridiculous conveniences, like Lazarus Pits, people being able to travel to and from Nanda Parbat in a few hours, guys being able to run so fast they travel through time. Makes total sense why you'd draw the line at a nuke moving faster than it should across the ocean.

Tell that to the people down thread, haha.

Like what, exactly? Honestly curious. Should he have built a weather machine? Apart from a natural disaster, there are relatively few ways to take out that large of a number of people so quickly and with almost no effort.

It absolutely was - that was the whole point of the shaman explaining that death makes him stronger - and that a large number of deaths makes him virtually unstoppable. It was literally explained in this episode AND the one before it.

If Felicity gets any character development following that nuking, people are just going to bitch about what a whiner she is, so I'd almost rather she not.

It was the backup earthquake device pt. 2

Is it officially called The Ark, or is that what the team is referring to it as since Darhk's plan is called Genesis?

Excuse you, she *married* that scumbag. Have some respect!

Alex merits a "was" now, right? Isn't he dead?

I don't really think this is a spoiler, but there are some BTS pics from the finale that included a newsstand, and the blast is at least covered as the lead in the major newspapers.

I got my degree in nuclear physics on the internet, so I might be wrong, but nuking a small town seems way less destructive than nuking the ocean.

I don't really mind them not taking time to give proper weight to Monument Point being nuked (although I do totally get the quibble there), since the deaths of all those people just - according to the shaman we met last week - made Damien Darhk pretty much unstoppable. So, stopping Darhk had to become the priority

Where exactly did I write that I expected tonsil hockey? Barry's wanted to be with Iris forever - Iris finally came around to wanting to give it a go (even if she did state it in the worst way possible - because "fate"). Last ep he said nothing about her confession, and and the only mention of it we got of it here was
