I was looking forward to this review because I wanted to know just how bad this film is received among critics.
Unsurprisingly, it's very bad.

The heute show (Daily Show ripoff) is pretty abysmal, though. It's the same formula, only the jokes are flat and work only on one meta-level. To overstate it, they just read what stupid thing Trump/AfD member XY has said recently and then laugh at it.

What Standup do you think is great? The only great "standup" in Germany is political cabaret. But actual standup? I can't think of anyone really great right now.

He's Austrian, though.

Ah, finally the review. THANK YOU. I watched this in September and was completely blown away. It's not easy to sit through and, as the author already mentioned, it's not fast-paced. Which increases the cringe-worthy factor of the comedy as scenes tend to take so long that it increasingly unsettles the viewer.

Now, after raving about Toni Erdmann for four whole months now would you finally grant it the review it deserves? Please and thank you.

Toni Erdmann all the way. Maren Ade is extremely talented and that talent already came to fruition in The Forest For The Trees and Everyone Else (ranked by the A.V. Club somewhere in the Top 30 for best movies from the '00s, if I recall correctly). But Tony Erdmann is her best piece so far and she deserves all the

Although slightly off-topic (even though I agree: Indeed, he fucks), I hardly use quotes from TV shows in my real life. This may be the one I actually use from time to time. My friends really don't get how great TV is.

Well it's kind of funny because, somewhat ironically, PoI might have been both too broad in its appeal and too ambitious for its own good. I mean it had the CSI timeslot on the biggest network in the US. Ratings-wise, it doesn't get better than that.
On the other side of the coin ist the fact that nowadays critically

FINALLY some PoI love here. I really don't understand how it didn't make the cut. Top 20 no brainer this and last year, both times snubbed.

Did I miss it or did you actually leave Person of Interest off this list? I mean, you're kidding right?
Especially since another Jonathan Nolan vehicle (Westworld) made the list, which isn't even close to the greatness of PoI. I really don't get why the show doesn't get broader recognition. The reviews here were highly

hold off on the PS4 and the game in case you don't want to be a 5th year med student

Ditto, but that's kind of the thing The Last Man On Earth did up to this point. They actually let the guest actors evolve as characters and let them ingrain themselves in the community only to then let them die. But I hope that they go off-book here, even if it were just to break with the formula.

This episode had me in tears

I looked for it and it wasn't. Pretty close, though.

Friday Night Lights and, to some extent, Deadwood.
Deadwood less so, because it represents a positive image of humanity, but more so because it states that there isn't such a thing as inherently bad people. Of course, Al Swearengen is maybe the best example of that, seeing how he incorporates both scheming and murder

BLACK-ISH IS BAAAAAAACK! Thank god. One of my favorite comedies on air right now and also one of the reviews I regularly follow.

I yelled that when I immediately recognized his voice on the space intercom

Completely agree, I found myself thinking only a few days ago, that a Random Roles with Jessica Walters would be great. There's just so much to ask. From winning an Emmy in the 70's and appearing on about 40 shows and movies or so in the 70's and 80's to her starting as voice actress on The Dinosaurs up to building

Thanks for the info, now I see it. Apparently it's not the language barrier (it's Anästhetikum in German, so fairly similar), it's just that I'm a very dumb person. Anyway, thanks again!
