One of the most consistently funny shows on television. Very underrated in terms of popularity, so this early renewal makes me twice as happy. I'm wondering, though: Nine years is a long, long time for any show to run. Maybe they're planning to wrapping it up with this one? Wouldn't blame them - if season nine turns

It took me a minute, but yeah, William Christopher died just before the New Year.

Bland? You've never seen it, right?

Nope, they don't - she is this heavily obese in real-life. And yes, I've been wondering about how this story-line will play out, as well if the actress doesn't lose the weight. Maybe they'll come up with a Transparent-esque cop-out like 'She can't have the medical procedure because health-problems or whatever'?

Not my cup of tea. The intro title is pretty sweet, though.

The problem isn't the prquel aspect. The problem is that the season - according to the article - will have large chunks of prequel-aspect in it. Does that mean entire episodes? Half the season even?

I always said that I admired how clever they were in trying to get around everyone's schedules. And there were some very, very funny and memorable scenes spread across the season. Ultimately, though, it just didn't feel like a finished product, almost like they had to stop production half-way through because something

And it's not like any of them is in a real need to get another gig, since most of them are working on quite successful tv shows (Arnett on two, even). Same goes for Hurwitz. I dunno, this sounds like another half-baked season in the making and one that I'm not particularly excited to see. Wasn't the main complaint

So, anyone yet heard of Hurwitz's plan to do the fifth season of Arrested Development as a prequel with new actors cast in the roles?

So, I just finished this last night and must say that I was foremost impressed with those ridiculously high production values. Like, they really didn't spare any expense here to get the feeling across that, yes, someone did travel back in time with a modern high resolution camera and we are now watching something that

Will you look at that. You are a ton of fun!

Her fear about how she would be forced to wear fake purses and drink tap water in the Bad Place and Chidi's response 'That's what you think hell is?' cracked me up. Brilliant delivery on both parts.

While not often laugh-out-loud funny - the show is, for lack of a better word, rather quiet in its humor - it is still a brilliantly constructed piece of art-work. The narrative is one of the most ambitious high-concepts that I've seen on television - let alone, network television - probably since Last Man on Earth. I

Geeee.. you must be fun at parties.

I enjoy the show immensly whenever Kevin Spacey gets a chance to chew his way through the script. His perfomance is wonderfully hammy and compelling and it really makes the show.

I think the world's best argument against any religion is still the scene in Life of Brian in which the whole crowd follows Brian around the tone and finally ends up yelling at them that they should leave him alone because he wasn't the Messiah. And one of John Cleese's characters responded: 'You are the Messiah and I

They should only allow him to use these large pensils so sign stuff. That way, nothing will ever get done since he can't grab them with those tiny, tiny hands of his.

Yeah, yeah. They can still fuck themselves for cancelling Penny Dreadful and call it a 'pre-planned ending'. At least get that Lyle-spin-off off the ground, finally. That was a pretty mean tease.

I'm surprised myself at how popular it is, but am pleased that it is. Nothing spectacular about it - I wouldn't even call it mus-see-tv - but it's warm, lovely and sort of welcoming. It's just so saccharine, but in a really comfortable way.

I long for the times when this show was only badly written. But they've actually managed to make it boring in addtion to that. Plus, Neagan is such a non-character, it's hard to grasp what it is that's supposed to make him so scary and imposing. He's really just Brad Garrett doing a Dean Pelton impression while
