I'm still highly curious about the IT-thing. The new movie will be a completely new take on the novel and so naturally the portrayal of Pennywise needs to blend with that. Which is why, yeah, the new version will be completely different from Curry's. Because unlike Rocky Horror this will not be just a remake.

Aren't those Star Trek folks like really liberal?

The more peeks and glimpses they revealed of it over the last couple months the more apparant it became that, yeah, it would totally suck like few remakes have sucked before.

You know, I really do think that Lynch is a great director, one of the most interesting visualists of our time and I admire his love for breaking with storytelling conventions. Some of his movies I like a lot (Blue Velvet, Fire Walk with Me), others I adore to no end (Eraserhead, Elephant Man) and yet others are among

Jesus Christ, what provoked that reaction? I get defensive about my personal favorites, as well. But this? I really don't know how to respond to that. Boy, boy, you really need someone to help you pull that stick out your ass but I'm not going anywhere near that, again.

Yep. He sure did use a lot of words, all right.

Yeah, but now that Karaszewski and Alexander are no longer involved and Murphy has basically free reign… I'm not so sure about sticking with this show. He is a domineering hack, after all.

Fucking shit. Any chance that list could have been about people most likely to succeed in solving the problem of dark energy in the universe?

I was just gonna write that. I don't know what went on behind the scenes and why the two guys who made ACS into what it was are not involved anymore, but something tells me that Murphy had his hands in this and just took over. I mean, the storyline for the third season just reeks of him and his sensationalistic

You know, I haven't seen Inland Empire, yet. It's on my watch list. But what you just wrote? Well, that's a load of crap: The 'you just didn't get it'-argument in response to someone who didn't like what you liked is pretty much bullshit and not to mention highly condescending.

Yeah, I read that afterwards but by then was too tired to edit my own post. Apologies.

So, has anyone else, over the course of the last weekend, followed Sherilyn Fenn's Twitter account? Seems like MJA is not the only Peaks-alumni now who has a feud going with Lynch (though this one might have to do with bad treatment during the production and isn't a schizophrenic meltdown).

Everything would have been an improvement on season 5. If they had killed off the entire cast, burned the sets to the ground, filmed this carnage and cut if off into 22 episodes would have been an improvement on season 5.

And his mom's played by Katey Sagal. I don't remember too much about the latter seasons of Sons of Anarchy, but booooy, do I wish I could erase that image of their first scene together from my memory.

Jimmy Smits is an actor I know I should like - because he really is in
basically everything - but somewhat can't get too excited about. I don't
know - something about his acting seems really boring and
one-dimensional to me.

Drama-wise, I watched the pilots for This Is Us, Designated Survivor, The Exorcist and Lethal Weapon this season and am sticking with the first three (which I also happen to really enjoy). I've put LW on hold for now, simply because I can't keep up with everything and that was 'just okay'. But so far, not bad for my

Someone needs to call Carlton Cuse and tell him to cut those Strain episodes down by twenty minutes, each.

I saw the pilot. It was fun. Easily digestable. And sympathetic. Wayans and Crawford have good chemistry and seem to be enjoying themselves playing aging action heroes. Haven't watched an episode since b/c too much tv. Otherwise, good for them.

So the subplot about Nygma showing Cobblepot that he’s truly loved in the city is genuinely touching. Somehow Gotham has managed to construct a legitimately charming relationship between two outsized villains. I care about them more than any other characters on the show. That’s insane.

Batman Returns had a Penguin for Mayor storyline, as well. The best Batman movie ever made - in my book, anyway.
