I see what you mean, but lots of shows that thought they were cancelled did a sort of preventative series finale that would have seemed a good ending point but then came back strong. The writers probably recognized that the fan base were clamoring for some sort of hard reboot.

0.5 seems way too big to be a normal drop though. I think the trend will only be apparent when we see the ratings for the next new episode after the break. Too early to say whether the show recovered or is still hemorrhagic.

Lol right, I don't think we can conclude it lost an entire 0.5 because of that. People have complained about earlier episodes just as much. Lets give credit where credit is due. Your cause and effect could easily be explained by a new NCIS or people forgetting it was on. We just don't know.
