At some point in TV Land every encounter with a black person became a life lesson. I dont know if it's because the writers only live in all white areas, or if they felt a need to over correct, but it's certainly tiresome.

Mine is killing an animal for cheap emotional reaction. A dog in a scene falls into Chekhov's Gun territory these days.
