I'm going to claim your list because it's close enough to mine if I COULD decide.

"Here Comes the Sun" is my favorite song ever, but when people ask what my favorite BEATLES song is I feel compelled to not stop there… but then I can't stop for at least 20 more songs so it doesn't help.
Abbey Road or Revolver, depending on my mood. I think Abbey Road may be more my FAVORITE, but Revolver's more the…
Mine too. No idea how old your son is for context— mine's six— but mine immediately starts rocking out so hard on the air guitar and/or air piano any time it comes on.
That is one of the more mind-blowingly awesome cover songs I've ever known.
One of my life-goals-I-keep-forgetting-to-actually-work-toward is to play drums in an all-girl Beatles tribute band. There are so many bits I just adore so much that I'll stop whatever I'm doing to air-drum along to whenever I hear them!
Not likely, considering how many rabid new fans they've gained in the decades since they broke up.
Yeah, that's what I've seen. Not really against HIM as much as "Oh, drugs, brought THAT on himself."
Overall I definitely give the solo-success crown to McCartney. But I don't want to belittle the fact that All Things Must Pass is my absolute favorite solo-Beatle album, even if George never matched it after that. I like John's hits on Double Fantasy better than all his other solo stuff, so I often wonder if he would…
I always look at it as Art is so powerful that demons just WORK harder on artists, because there's so much potential to create something glorious— the destructive forces keep trying to counteract the creative forces. The non-creative types— well, there's just not as much there for negativity to try to counteract.
Why can't we adore them both for different reasons? :D
That makes sense; I can see your point. I think I was just so bewitched by the giants themselves that I didn't particularly care what the dwarves were doing.
AGH, gah, I really must be the only person in the world who actually LOVED the rock giants. There were OTHER bits I could have had cut down (mostly goblin fight stuff), but somehow everyone else who liked the movie takes exception to the rock giants. And I didn't just tolerate that scene, I ACTIVELY ENJOYED it! I…
It's always amused/bothered me that somehow TV places ALWAYS have snow for Christmas, but never any other time.
My real name actually IS Mrs. Weir (not Jean, but still), and it's possible I may be turning into her. Which wouldn't be bad.
The nice thing about making friends in college is that pretty much everyone is starting from scratch (or near to it). You don't have to worry about being the One Outsider trying to ingratiate yourself in with people who like each other better. Say hello to people in your dorm as you pass by, get to know your roommate,…
Her relationship with Lindsay is so bittersweet. This episode hits the heart of it.
I got it for the first time this past spring (I'm 35). Apparently I got it from my 4 year old daughter, so go figure. Anyway, I've spent so much of my adult life dealing with bouts of chronic depression and raising small children that I went weeks thinking this was just more of the same and forcing myself to go to…
This makes me feel so much better about all the stuff I miss. If AV CLUB members haven't seen so many of these things (even some I HAVE!) I'm really not so "behind" after all.
My husband grew up a Weir (and as a matter of fact we have a son named Sam), and he'd heard ALL of what'shisface's nicknames as a kid. My mother-in-law was a teacher and she'd just start off the year introducing herself as all the ways you could twist the name so that the students wouldn't think they were clever…
I felt embarrassed how broken up I was by a celebrity divorce when I heard about that one. They were one of my favorite celebrity couples just on principle.
