Chilton is essentially the comic relief. Fuller has said as much. Also, he likely didn't die.

Yeah, the typo is bringing us into serious Archie Bunker territory. Sigh.
Internet hyperbole :( Did not deserve a D, was not in Following territory. Geez, c'mon.
You won't get an answer :P
I liked this episode. Nice to see the season-long arcs come to a head. The last 6 episodes should be interesting.
Premature I guess to declare.
This whole calling someone "Jed" is so reductive, as if anyone defending the show HAS to be a creator or related to the creator. I mean, the guy has 128 comments….
Ehh…your point is somewhat exaggerated. if Ward killed someone for Skye in episode THREE, we would have all called shenanigans and said WTF…HE CRAY CRAY. You might consider it wasted time, but the decision "feels" somewhat logical based on everything the team has been through.
I think the review is painting a broad brush. There have been SOME stakes and several discernible villains up till now, but it's obvious that the show is building to the resolution of season-long arcs and upping those stakes.
Hm? The episode got a 2.0 in the demo, pretty decent.
I'm glad it won't be up against the premiere of Game of Thrones! I think it shares more of an audience with GoT than Walking Dead for some reason.
To be fair, it was only one scene out of a few involving Luke where someone said he was gay :P.
Inappropriate.
I think F is overstating it a bit, but even as a fan of the show, I think this was B/B- material at best for some of the reasons you mentioned. However, the grad school thing has sort of been established in earlier episodes.
I was saying me so horny.
G'night Les Moonves. See, I can be reductive and facetious in reaction to valid opinions too!
Totally agree with your post. I think the narrative intent of the season has become clear for a fair bit now. I don't get these people who need the larger picture spelled out to them, or one central "Big Bad" for everyone to rail against. TV Trope # 213134
It makes sense, but it's a "concern" that has been repeated in a lot of these reviews. I'm tired of it as well. I think the serialized narrative has been clear enough, and we have a decent sense of what the larger narrative intent has been this season.
It's not really preventing a spoiler when the spoiler is in the very next line underneath and you almost have to read it in conjunction with the spoiler tag.
Unfortunately, you are in the minority with this opinion. :(
