You forgot to mention Scorsese's adaptation of Edith Wharton's "Age of Innocence" with Daniel Day Lewis and Winona Ryder. That was truly a brilliant film, in an age where Winona was still relevant and Daniel was still young.

I actually read the book afterwards, hoping to have the same adventure that Bastian had. Oh, the naivete of nerdy childhood me.
I don't care what accent she has, and would even prefer her original Scottish one. But the hybrid words she produced for the pilot were difficult to comprehend. I'm sure it also effected Gillan's ability to convey comedy to her highest potential.
Gillan's American accent is much improved from the pilot.
"X is for Xenophobia" is going to be the beginning of a 3 episode arch ending with the finale, "Z is for Zimbabwe," where Zelda will decide to move to Zimbabwe, but finally settle in Zambia; all the while Andrew, being confronted by his xenophobia (remnants of his craziness as Ginsberg on Mad Men), has to remain…
Then Milioti will forever be known as the dreaded significant other that just dies on every guy she dates/marries.
They're just saying the relationship will last 8 months yada yada yada, to hook people into keep watching it because everyone is so traumatized by HIMYM's ending. Casting Milioti and having Sagal narrate, exaggerates that feeling of despair because of its reminiscence of the show. Man, did the creators of HIMYM scar…
Is the second episode title going to be "B is for ___(topic that begins w B)___"?
(I wrote a response to the poster harpier, which you can check out below).
I completely agree with your analysis of Jamie's need for introspection. But what bothered me more, is that after the incident, SPOILER: he is so turned on by beating her, that he has to sleep on the floor to keep from raping her. And the next day, he still ends up violently f**king her, despite her protestations of…
This was one of my most treasured movies as a child. Yes, it was sexist, racist, and violent, but a quick examination of our own times illustrates that little has changed.
"dickaaruuus!"
wow. I was even hesitating to make that comment with how controversial it might be, but turns out it was actually a thing! Nice research.
Total up-vote! These diet fads are all part of the "look-at-me" culture.
Right up there with the ridiculousness of the Gluten-Free fad, is the Paleo-diet, or any of those juice-cleanses. Just awful.
How is "Casual Hitler" not already a TV show?
I just read the spoiler scene that everyone is worried about, and the conversations, apologizing, and events that follow. While I was already spoiled, I wanted to read it to see if I could be convinced that it was justified. It wasn't. It was worse than I imagined. Now I can't seem to want to pick the book up again. I…
That's right! I forgot about Stockard Channing making out with him!
I'm halfway through the first book. Why were you suffering in the second and third books?
Makes sense. That print is prototypical Alice+Olivia!
