Upvoted for the Norton love. "Birdman" will win something because it looks innovative and a little autobiographical.

That depends on what you mean by "right".

Considering how much control the author had, fat chance.

A satirical horror film that "horror fans" don't like. Shocking?

All his art is technology, I'll give him that.

Mansplaining Feminism. Perfect.

Jabberwocky was funny?

It might be worth it just to say no to Steven Spielberg.

"Let's put to rest the idea some people have that Lena Dunham is not self-aware." If only she'd let us.

Confusing. For the first half it seemed to be about duplicity, deception of others and of the self, shown through all the characters, not just the patron. Then it became as the reviewer said, the portrait of an asshole. For over 3 hours running time you need an epic, and this wasn't it.

Ripley's the exception, at least before a couple of sequels.

King of the Gypsies, actually. That's according to Streep herself.

Ripley's an outlier. Excepting a few sequels, anyway.

The same. They all talk like that and always have.

Most action heroes aren't there to be fucked, that's the difference.

I think it was for Dino DeLaurentis and King of the Gypsies. She's talked about it before.

That may be so, but not The Winter's Tale. It's just difficult to adapt. Part of what made the adaptation so bad was the laziness of it, that none of the difficult but worthwhile material was even attempted. They just cut it out altogether.
