Universal Studios paid a seven figure sum to acquire the rights to this book back in 2012. I can now only imagine their surprise when they realised they actually already owned it (The Last Starfighter).

Does anyone know why the release of this book was delayed a whole year? It was scheduled to be published Summer 2014 (the cover art was published online August 2013). If the delay was due to rewrites then how bad was it originally!?
