Remember the 5/9 hack was in 2 parts. Part 1 destroy the tape backups. Part 2 Ransom ware all the data (encrypt everything so no one can read it and throw away the key). This makes the data unreadable not destroyed. Stage 2 is destroying the actual paperwork.
