I don't know what that means. Until I saw a link to this on Facebook this morning I had never heard of AV Club or Mr. O'Neal, so there are plenty of other people who don't know his personal writing style who might stumble upon this

Again, I understand. What upsets me is first that it was unnecessary, and second that as far as I can tell, the average internet-surfer is not intelligent enough to get the joke and will take it seriously.

Nope, I get the joke, but it's not funny. An online petition to save a cartoon dog should not be compared to one of the greatest human rights activists of all time on the day after he died

Am I the only one who finds it offensive that this article compares people whining on the internet about a TV character, to Nelson Mandela risking his life and serving prison time while fighting for the freedom of millions of actual human beings, not cartoon dogs?
