All the characters are so OTT. Am I misremembering or did they used to be vaguely believable?

I'm probably going to get crucified for this comment, but Zooey Deschanel's "acting" just gets worse and worse every week. Weakest part of the episode by far. (And I'm not a Zooey D hater- she was great the first couple of seasons)

I miss the days on this show when every character didn't appear to have extensive brain damage.

I thought Zooey was meant to be the nightmare on the New Girl set?
