The C-SPAN scene illustrates the kind of implausible world this pilot spun. I mean, 140 million people disappear from the face of the earth, and three years later Congress is JUST getting around to having a hearing about it?

Agreed, didn't enjoy it, the dialogue & music were over the top and ham-fisted. "Oh, wow, another slow-mo montage against a background of emotional piano music…oh, what great television."

I thought the episode relied way too heavily on the "cut to slow motion montage/drop all audio except an emotional piano instrumental." They did that 4 or 5 times, seemed like every other scene ended that way.
