Once you see her there's no going back.
Once you see her there's no going back.
Anytime you see something like that, an Agent did it.
"It's okay (if I die). Cause I got to have you Handsome B. Wonderful."
I don't know if I consider Dark City superior… but I love that movie and will upvote anyone with a Jennifer Connelly bias.
I'm sure that there are critical works that engage the movies intelligently. That really isn't my issue. My issue is the attitude of it's "Philosophy 101", which to my mind is meant to be a derogatory dismissal of what it does deal with as superficial, shallow, simplistic… etc.
Isn't that for ethnic cleansing?
The correct term is "collateral damage". They collateral damaged like a dozen innocent people.
Sorry, I don't accept oaths made by appealing to Norse Gods.
I hear this point made, a lot. But never actually with any elucidation. For example, on the DVD commentary for the box set, the film critics who didn't like the movie make the same remark… but also show no actual awareness of most of the philosophical unpinnings of the movie. Which strikes me as intellectual posing.
So the movie had already lost you about 80% of the way in?
Oh fuck. The first time I saw the movie I actually said to my friend, "Is this fight scene ever going to end?". Not a good sign when you are early on in a movie.
The fights, in themselves, were well executed. And the freeway chase was a great scene. But Neo fighting the goons was a prime example of where the second movie failed, in my mind.
I wouldn't mind seeing it on the big screen again. But seeing it on the big screen as your first time seeing it, not knowing anything about the story, was a memorable treat.
It might have been my first DVD purchase.
Not me. When the garbage truck rammed the telephone booth with Trinity in it, and it turns out she wasn't in it, I leaned over to my friend and said, "What the hell is going on?".
Yup. It's called Pearl Harbor.
I was sad when he got shot down over the English Channel and died after crashing in China.
I refuse to allow those guys to make me choose.
Correction- The ALLEGED (it totally didn't happen, but if it did happen they totally deserved it, but it didn't happen) Armenian Genocide.
Studio head- We need to make a sequel to the Highlander
Writer- What if…. the immortals are really space aliens?
Studio head- Green lit
Me- Stop! You leave Highlander alone!
Nah, Nemesis is the worst. Insurrection is just a long, boring episode. It's shoulder-shruggingly bad. Nemesis was an actively hate-worthy movie directed by a guy who clearly didn't give a shit.
