She's going off to study forensics, and in the comics, she's a forensic scientist. So, you know, it's probable she'd be back soon.

She's probably going to be back some time soon and thus likely still hired, my friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.

    Causes chemical reaction. Kinetic energy.

She's probably going to be back, honestly.

Think about it, though. If you had an inkling about leaving, but weren't sure, would you rather have your friends and family devastated for something that might not happen? I think she didn't tell him because she wasn't sure, and Barry not explaining himself was her final straw, putting the stamp on her decision to

I swear I think she's figured it out already

I think she might have figured out that Barry was the Flash and left because she knew he was hiding it from her.

Why would she? She was just on the Messengers, which was actually getting good, but had been cancelled due to less than amazing ratings and polarized reviews. Then, she was casted for the Flash, which is likely her most successful stint since One Tree Hill. It'll be dumb for her to leave.

They didn't make the dream job up. If you've been watching closely, the first time she met Barry, she said she'd been a fan, being extremely fascinated with forensics. She's mentioned it a couple of times. Oh and every time she's been in an investigation scene, she's always been sniffing out forensic evidence, but

I've probably written this everywhere, but she's probably going to be back.

Yeah the writers handled her quite poorly, but considering she'd likely be back, maybe sending her off for a while is their way of restarting her character development. We'll have to wait and see.

Don't forget Jessie Quick and Hot Pursuit

    Kudos to that comment

Out of all of Barry's love interests, Patty has probably been the most perfect person to be able to tell. I mean, she's a bloody cop. If she knows how much danger she's in every day, she can bring a whole bag of bullets with her.

What if she already knows and left Barry because she knows he's been hiding it?

She'll likely be back, though. She just went out to study forensics. Don't forget, in the comics, she was a forensic scientist too, and not a cop.

She'd likely be back at some point though, considering she has yet to be Hot Pursuit.

Canon changes in the New 52, though.

It kind of frustrated me how long they teetered on whether Barry will or won't tell Patty his identity as the Flash. Having ultimately not, I'm glad that they wouldn't overcrowd Team Flash.
