Just curious, why do you see Alison as a snake? I feel that she is a sad tortured soul…..

I always felt that Noah confessed in the finale (s2) to save BOTH Helen and Alison. That way he didn't have to choose between them and saved them both. He got to be "the hero, the great man" that went to prison so they didn't have to. Maybe I missed something?
