Poor Doug Ramsey. They keep bringing him back to life in the hopes that being bale to read languages is now cool, only to kill him off again.

This is the precise time I stopped collecting comics for a decade. Just an awful, awful era.

Agreed. But I understand if that guy has a bit of a bunker mentality. He's been under fire for almost 30 years, and he was the EIC during one of Marvel's most fertile periods.

In Shooter's defense, he's probably tired of being portrayed as some mustache-twirling villain for trying to enforce such dastardly policies as "turning in your work on time." I'm not saying all of his ideas were gold, but geez… he gets way too much hate for his sins.

I really like the differences between Morrison and Whedon's runs, and I think you need to have read Morrison to understand Whedon (or at least Claremont). Morrison requires almost no knowledge of the characters at the start, while Whedon relies on more back story. Morrison's run works as a self-contained story. I

Reduce, but not eliminate. Wasp is great, but Janet is even better. I just like the idea of a socialite slumming it as a superhero because she's a bit bored.

Cerebus! Read Church and State I & II, and then stop. I wish I had.

This is a pretty good jumping off point, but of course every fan has their own favorites. I'd highly recommend picking up some trade paperbacks from your local library, and read the ones that seem interesting. It's free, and a good jumping off point. It's also a bit easier to jump into independent comics because there

I do not agree with dropping Sex Criminals, which is a brilliant book and one of my favorite reads. However, you are completely right in your closing statement. Where is Swamp Thing? Alan Moore is essentially comic book god, and this is a huge reason as to why. And the new paperback collections are great.

I think one of the major reasons people keep harping on Pym's spousal abuse is the fact people love Wasp. Janet van Dyne, post-Stan Lee, is one of the best Avengers. I'm a little ticked she wasn't in the first Avengers movie. Wasp rules, and was the first female leader (and a founding member) of the Avengers, which

Terrific article. It almost makes me want to go back and read some Ant-Man comics. I won't, of course, but the fact I'm tempted is the sign of a terrific sales job.

To be fair, Mr. Fantastic is an incredible asshat, as well.

Shorter version of this article: I am so much cooler than 5 year olds who, shockingly, do not share my more sophisticated taste in animated movies.

I picked up their double CD with Noam Chomsky at a record shop a little bit before Tubthumping became ubiquitous. It was actually pretty great. And I couldn't resist song titles like Mouthful of Shit or the Day the Last Nazi Died.

Sounds thrown together is a feature not a bug. This sounds like it was a total blast to record, and it comes through on the tracks. More distortion! More fuzz!

Honestly, the race was more exciting when everyone was doping. And by everyone, I mean everyone. It wasn't just Lance, it was all his major competitors and nearly every rider in the peloton. And drug use wasn't new in the 90s, as former champs have all been pretty open about their own drug use. I think it was Hinault

I read comics exclusively in trades (I'm a patient guy and can wait for the release), and the first trade of the Fade Out was fantastic. I think you're right, it does work much better in a collection instead of on the issue to issue basis.

You're right. Hispanics are not a monolithic group. When I still worked a job that enabled me to see private polling data, I think Dominicans were much more liberal than the population at large, much less other Hispanics. It's just that there are more Mexican and Central American Hispanics, so it skews the results.

It's even dumber when you consider that Hispanics, as a group, are more religious and tend to be cultural conservatives. The biggest obstacle the GOP has to attracting the large Hispanic voting block is their free-floating racism. It's one of the reasons that a "purple" Texas isn't a complete pipe dream.

Trump is currently polling in 2nd place, among GOP contenders. I'm gonna start crying now.
