Upvoted for referencing the Posette's favorite short story.

This was amazing. I have nothing else to add. I'm going to read it again.

Catholics on a Friday during Lent. And only because you are on a roadtrip and lack options of where to stop.

I'm going to go against the grain and defend Piper. Remember when she showed up at Litchfield and every prisoner united together in support of Red's attempt to literally kill her? Then she was cast out of the "suburbs" by Healy, but never accepted by her bunkies. Oh, and then the meth-heads tried to kill her, ending

The fight he had with his girlfriend was perfect Caputo. Yes, he did stay and take care of the baby, and made tremendous sacrifices for her and now she's walking out on him. On the other hand, his feelings of resentment towards her for "ruining his life" bubble up and he lashes out at her like it's her fault he made

The guards are having an outstanding season. My only quibble with an otherwise excellent review was the throwaway line about the guards not seeing the inmates as people. If anything, the new guard sequence shows how good of a job most of the guards have been doing and how the do take the time to know the inmates

Well, the online only paywall isn't much of a wall. If you have cable. you have ESPN, and you have access to ESPN3. And ESPN3 has a pretty deep roster of sporting events (their highest ratings are for LSU baseball because LSU fans are insane). I was able to literally watch EVERY LSU baseball game this season. Every

They aren't the only game, but they are still the biggest and best when it comes to live sports. ESPN holds rights to the NFL, NBA, MLB, all NCAA sports, NASCAR, MLS, US and Mexican national soccer teams, all 4 tennis majors, golf (two majors), not to mention a whole host of sports online (like cricket and rugby).

They've also taken these broadcasting rights and decided to only show a few teams instead of the whole sport. About the only sport they still make an effort to give you a feel for the whole national scene is college basketball.

The Final Score got cancelled on the FSN networks. NBCSN's highlight show, which was f'n awesome, got cancelled due to low ratings, even for NBCSN. People don't WATCH highlight shows. I can't blame the networks for this one, they keep trying and people keep not watching them.

I want to hate ESPN for what has happened to SportsCenter, but any time a rival sports network launches, they try a highlight show of all sports and it gets taken off the air because no one watches it. People seem to WANT to have the screaming head format instead of a bunch of highlights of the games.

That's what is so frustrating about ESPN. Their live game coverage used to be (and still can be) outstanding. Before the proliferation of their screaming head shows, they filled the airwaves with tons of college sports and more obscure sports (where have you gone, America's Cup?). They still do an excellent job with

I miss her, but no character is essential, such is the strength of the ensemble.

Upvoted for talking trash about fondant. That stuff is inedible garbage.

That's always been SST's strategy, and why they allowed Spot to produce all of the albums.

"You're Leo McGarry. You're not going to be taken down by this small fraction of a man. I won't permit it."

Exactly. Sun Records is the early powerhouse label of rock n roll, and it was located in Memphis. The artists all had a strong southern vibe, particularly Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash, and that Elvis guy. Early rock n roll is very southern, and it wasn't until the 60s that it became more urban and/or British.

I feel this article was the result of a bar bet in which the author claimed he could write a rave article about a near perfect album that would drive the commenters to write negative things about the album.

Speaking as a religious, Southern liberal, pop culture does a pretty miserable job of dealing with well-rounded religious people (or Southerners, for that matter). It's hardly a sin limited to OITNB. It bothers me, but not all that much.

I've worked for a tobacco company, a Big Law firm, and subprime mortgage company… and I would draw the line at working for a cellphone gaming company. This is a level of evil that requires a level of moral compromise I'm not capable of… and if we're talking about my morals, I'm like Henry Clay when it comes to
