Worth mentioning, yes, but this review seemed to be more about Breaking Bad than the X-Files. To me, that's a failure on the part of the reviewer.

I don't see how "Trust No 1" and Snowden, which are thematic connections, compare to "John Doe" and Vince Gilligan jizzing on everyone's face a few years later.

Pretty much John Doe in a nutshell. I could do without all the masturbatory Breaking Bad references in the review, though - regardless of who wrote or directed the ep.
