And you realize Mark Gatiss who wrote the Sherlock premiere and co created the series is gay and married, right?

Canton Delaware? Jenny and Vastra?
“I am not gay.” Moffat, I do not care whatsoever one way or the other about this, but after six 90-minute episodes rife with queerbait, it’s past being a running joke. Let it go.
Considering this was GATISS who wrote this script and is OPENLY GAY, maybe you should reconsider this comment.
I'd give this episode a very strong B+. I also think it's disingenuous to comment on this reviewers apparent distaste for Moffat when Gatiss wrote the script.
Agreed!
There was a moment that I thought it was Capaldi's but I was glad I was wrong.
Also, it kinda looks like Capaldi will be playing him young.
While watching it I was on the fence, I think I had wanted something bigger, BUT, Matt Smith's performance, the closure of so many plot point, the underlining of so many themes of the 11th's era, seeing him age and finally be the old man he was in side (also looking vaguely like the First Doctor), that final speech…
Yeah, I feel Moffat is the first to realize he has a time machine. And I feel like, since he's such a fan of the show, he explores the mythology in a way that's exciting and revelatory to the character.
I just feel that all of the companions, male and female, throughout every iteration are there to be used as plot devices for the Doctor, with little sense of past or career outside the Doctor. Davies' companions had a supporting cast, pasts, and careers, yes, but ultimately the only thing that truly defined them is…
Killing off the lead of a show is pretty far from "forumlaic."
I say Moffat mostly because I feel his story arcs — while wibbly wobbly — are lot more cohesive, his vision of the Doctor feels a lot more layered, his use of time travel is nothing less than epic, and he does an amazing job exploring — and exploiting — the mythos. Davies, while doing a great job with character and…
One of the most overrated films ever.
I also think we need to acknowledge that the show is leaning too heavily on formula while existing in an "universe" that doesn't rely on formula (just look at Captain America or Iron Man 3) in a post-Breaking Bad world. They did to stop playing it safe and kill someone off (Skye).
I don't think it matters.
The biggest problem of this show is that every character outside of Coulson and Ming-Na add nothing to the show and Skye, our arguable "protagonist" is said to be adept than she really is and adds very very very little to show's dynamic. Fitzsimmons are just annoying.
The first half tried of PKW to hard to be a truncated Season 5, but the second half was perfect.
Remember when Richard Dreyfuss had the same idea?

I was thrilled, scared and worried. The moment when Jenny was crying under the rubble punched me in the gut. I'm saying the critics complaints about the destruction is due to their detachment from basic comics motifs.
@avclub-130f14e3e5c0263f013b56d8c212f26a:disqus I write the Green Lama. Also wrote Richard Knight and Foster Fade for Pro Se. I'm that Adam Garcia.
