Match'd, The Dudleys, Last Call, and the crack sketch were among the funniest of the last 2 seasons. Old farts and young tarts, the apple song, the football sketch, and the monologue were funny too. I thought Cecily and Kate McKinnon were in position to 'claim the show as their own' but they've receded a bit in screen time. So it was nice to see them have some big laughs in the mtv game show and barflies respectively. Both those were among the funniest live sketches in the last season or two.
I agree with Stewart that SNL receives undue malice ("it's not funny anymore" "[so-and-so] sucks"). However, that doesn't make it unfair to appreciatively but critically watch and review episodes.
