Clunky cliche campy dialogue as well as really bad story telling/plotting is at the heart of this show which is sinking under its own weight.

I just love what the CW are doing here - they get it. The writers, producers, actors etc on The Flash & Arrow are world building like pro's & its a joy to behold.

I really don't know who this show can be seen as empowering or feminist as Vampire's are nothing more than parasites and having a show centred around female vampires only further inflates the sexist stereotype that women are just leeches living off men.

Nice anecdote LLanely which follows what a friend of mine experienced when he met Bill Bryson at a writers festival. He said was warm, funny and very charming and was happy to talk to all.
