Yep, CA isn't the liberal lovey-dovey anything-goes state most non-Californians think it is. Orange County can make Texas look liberal, and there's a place near San Diego called Santee which is basically Kentucky.

An example: Watching TV with friends and and ad for one of those charities that helps starving kids comes on.
I also love how Dylann Roof was given a bulletproof vest to wear when being transported to jail…
On the other hand, if you're a belligerent white guy walking around an airport carrying a loaded AR15, that's perfectly OK.
Even a stopped clock is right twice a day.
Yep, welfare is bad unless it's corporate welfare. Always amazes me that so many military personnel are staunch Republicans/right-wingers when they're the party that's done the most to eff up help for vets.
These arseholes don't stand up to corporations because in their tiny minds they were laid off because of gay Islamic socialist Mexicans. It never seems to occur to them that it's the rich white guy who owns the company who dumped them on the scrapheap, not Pedro from Tijuana. On top of that, the fact that most of them…
I live in the States now and my mum's been on at me about whether I'm going to move back. I've tried pointing out to her that with house prices the way they are in the UK I'm gonna have to live with her (I'm 44) and thanks to the crap pay I get in my job here I have no real savings to get a house of my own.
Nah, they're terrorists. Regular protesters usually turn up to stuff like this with placards and banners, not assault rifles.
I bought my house in Merthyr Tydfil for £42k in 2000 and sold it in 2004 for £60k. In 2006 it was on the market for £93k. This is Merthyr Tydfil ffs.
I had a few now-ex Facebook friends who supported these morons on the grounds that they were "sticking up for the common people against the feds". Pointing out that the leader was a millionaire and that the "common people" were basically white drunk stupid rednecks didn't do me many favours with them but it was fun to…
That was exactly my response to this bullshit - I'd love to see how a large group of heavily armed black or brown people got on if they tried the same thing. "Carpet bombed" would be my guess.
The one thing that does always crack me up in T2 is watching the amazing CGI (truly mind-blowing when I saw it in the cinema in 1991) and then spotting how awful the blue-screen is in the scene where they're driving the police car after escaping the T-1000.
It boils down to Alien being a horror movie set in space and Aliens being an action movie set in space. I guess whichever genre you like best will colour your view as to which is your favourite.
Perfect avatar/comment synergy.
Was that bad movie website Jabootu? I remember going to that one a lot because I couldn't get over the way the guy writing the reviews would take time out in the middle of one to slam Librul Hollywood.
I've got the Alien, and it is indeed adorable.
You're not even trying any more, AV Club
Looks more like a Snookie doll.
God I miss those. In California the only ones I can find are of the "blazing hot" variety.
