It never completely clicked for me. I was never all that concerned for the characters and that is the biggest thing for me. I also didn't care for the seemingly supernatural constitution of Myers.

I feel you. I still jump at the blood testing scene in The Thing. Carpenter is a master of tension. The slasher genre just doesn't hit my horror nerve much.

I didn't see it until it had been hyped out the wazoo by friends and the net. I was underwhelmed and am not a fan of certain aspects (I admit having positive feelings about the Rob Zombie version that humanizes Myers), while admiring the craftsmanship and score. I do think it is the best slasher movie by a wide

I feel that Hawke and Fishbourne elevate it. It's not an essential film by any means or better than the original, but I find it is well above average and not a slap in the face like most remakes.

"Halloween, which plenty of people still regard as his masterpiece. (They’re wrong. It’s The Thing.)"

    I knew I forgot somebody….

I don't care about the doc, but Gost, Terminus Dan, Carpenter Brut, and Dance with the Dead make some amazing music to drive to.

At least the Good, the Bad and the Ugly and Apocalypse Now are back. I needed an excuse not to buy them on Blu-ray

You have to give season 3 some leeway. They were building for a future that never happened.

"one of the worst trends that this one supplanted: For a time in the ’90s, a substantial portion of summer movies was based on old TV shows."

The episode where the light sensors couldn't detect black people is one of the funniest I've ever seen. I wish more people watched that show.

The satire is too on the nose, the effects and fights are too cheesy, but Carpenter, Russell, and everyone else were clearly having fun. That goes a long way for me.

I thought this was a cover when I saw the headline. A bit disappointed that it isn't. Lullabies is a bit underrated imo, it didn't help that Little Sister was overplayed and wasn't representative of the album. Burn the Witch and Someone's in the Wolf are songs I go back to frequently.

But is their music staying on Spotify?

Patriot Games was one of my first R rated movies growing up because my mom loved Harrison Ford and trusted him not to play in trashy movies.

Because that open letter made it clear that the Reagan family didn't suffer under the Alzheimer's…

I'm a big fan of An Idiot Abroad. Their attempts to torture Karl showed sides of countries you don't usually see on tv and Karl had character development through it.

Actually just saw on metalsucks that Brent is working on a live debut of his own supergroup, Giraffe Tongue Orchestra, at the Reading and Leeds Festival.

In this case none of these musicians is the best in their band. I love Troy Sanders, but people don't tune into Mastodon for his bass lines and vocals.

Not generosity. I just try to give people what they have earned from me. It's why I am beloved by my town's bartenders.
