While I won't give you an upvote because I despise "liberal" intolerance and said what I did because I don't spit on people for opinions I disagree with; I will give you a golf clap in real life for that.

Awesome. Your furious wit causes them all see the error of their ways and begin marching for equal pay, right?

I looked up Thief to discover it has Brooklyn Nine-Nine's Andre Braugher in the lead role. How have I never heard of this?!?!

Her special on Netflix is awesome. It's my go-to recommendation to everyone who tells me that women can't do great stand-up.

If protecting the people you care about by making the difficult choices makes you a terrible person I hope the world is full of them. Giles is a pragmatist and without him the Scoobies would be dead a hundred times over.

This makes me want to watch my favorite Epic Rap Battle of History.

He's really good at that. I would find the couple from the Before series very annoying and would avoid them if I knew them in real life, but I found myself really hoping they worked things out while watching the films.

I saw that Everybody Wants Some!! made over $300,000 at only 19 theaters. I don't think Paramount cares, but that bodes well for another modest Linklater success and makes me really happy.

That's fine if you are are subject, but Ragnar is not a subject. He is a king and as such has the purpose of ensuring that his people thrive. If he wants to get high, contemplate metaphysics and ethics, doubt his purpose, etc. he can abdicate and become a monk or a hermit. If he wants to deserve his place as king, or

That is right, but I can't help being irritated at him for not having a plan here. He was conscious enough to pull his cathedral stunt, but not enough to work on an exit strategy. I still blame him for the situation despite Bjorn taking responsibility.

I'm not sure that I follow. His decisions have led to the complete destruction of his colony in Wessex (an act that has led to no negative consequences for Egbert at this point because Ragnar's attention shifted entirely to Paris), the deaths of dozens, if not hundreds, of his people in an aborted attack on Paris that

I agree it is a great performance, but I have been wishing for Ragnar's death since the first siege of Paris when he sacrificed so many of his own people out of petty revenge towards Floki. He has almost completely stopped caring about his people and has become a terrible king.

It's good, what you said just got gears turning in my head. I wasn't trying to pick on you.

I felt bad for Bad News Bears. It was released too soon after Bad Santa and people rightly said the Walter Matthau version didn't need remade, but it was a good movie.

I kind of want to watch this in theaters because I've been looking forward to it and Linklater is one of my top 5 active directors hands down. I just know I'm going to have to smuggle in a 6 pack of beer to get the experience right…

Funny that you mention Scorsese when his works are influenced by his Catholicism. He may be lapsed, but, like most Catholics I know who don't go to church, his faith still seems to influence him a great deal and it can be seen in most of his films. I'm very excited about Silence and that looks like it will tackle his

IPAs are for posers. I only drink barrel aged stouts that are released in limited quantities. I purchase them with a small army of homeless people to avoid the 2 bottle limit at the brewery.

I'm going to picture you as a young Martin Starr every time I see you post from this point forward.

For unrelated reasons I was looking into what Niall Ferguson was doing right now (didn't realize that he had vanished a bit to write an extensive Kissinger biography, that should be interesting.) and stumbled across this youtube clip which reminded me of our conversation. https://www.youtube.com/wat…

That's an excellent point. He did give the first film a bit of depth by being more thoughtful about sex than his horndog friends. I forgot about that, but I do remember thinking that he played the role about as well as one could expect.
