O Brother Where Art Thou? is considered underrated? That's one of theirs that seems to be loved by my non-filmy friends, some of whom don't know who the Coens are.
The thing is with CK2 is that you need to realise you don't need to understand everything. I've had some amazing games of it blindly poking around, executing my wife, sending my homosexual children to monasteries etc. Play it as an RPG and not as a strategy game and you'll be fine.
