It sadly doesn't get a lot of love, but Macabre (2009) was a pretty incredibly horror flick. It took a lot of the concepts of the 80s slasher flicks and stood them on their head.

This tends to be the common defense of the people who like Vice; "Look, no one else is doing anything like they are doing."
