I think Kirkman stated that in TWD universe there has never been a fictional depiction of zombies in film or any type of media. Thus, no one has ever heard of zombies.

I like when they were called geeks.

Beth's solo episode. It got some things right but it was very…meh…compared to the other episodes.

But the last sentence states that the writers now understand the importance of balancing happiness and dread. So you must somewhat like the show. Also, if you've ALWAYS hated it what are you doing here in Season 5?

Zombies aren't much of a threat. Plus you move faster without so much gear on.

No show is free of contrived plot conveniences. I still cringe when I think of the almighty Breaking Bad and how Walt was stupid enough to leave Gale's book in the bathroom for Hank to find. He's a freaking genius and is super careful but decides to not only keep that book but he keeps it pretty much out in the open.

that's exactly what they said lol…no guessing needed.

Regarding the walkers…one of the taglines for the show was "Fight the dead. Fear the living."

We move the majority of the characters from point A to where, as the review states, shit is going down…but "nothing happens"

Give it another shot when you have the opportunity to binge watch. In my experience, watching the show with commercials makes the show feel much slower than what it actually is…which is a major complaint people have with the show (the slow pacing). Try to find a way to watch without those pesky commercials.

Technically they've been on the road to DC for only one episode. Which was this one.

Pretty much. Which is stupid considering TWD has always advertised itself as a character-focused show. This episode imo did a great job mixing the character drama and the action. I loved it (minus the van scene)

it's not just the grade it's the reviews themselves. At times I would see that B+ and A-, but the review read differently. It would seem more negative than the letter grade itself. But now, the review itself is much more positive.

I remember a time when AV Club hated everything TWD and the community there bashed this show like it was a rotten pumpkin. But nowadays this show is getting nothing but praise from the reviewer and the community seems to appreciate it more as well…has the world come to an end?

Tell that to the IGN community. They all seem to have hated this episode

I saw 5.03 differently. Basically, the way I saw it, basically it showed us how Rick's group is the stronger one. Pretty one-dimensional but effective, I thought. The Terminus group prided themselves on being stronger and smarter, when they weren't… at all. They were made to look like fools and it worked. Rick's

Yea. It was pretty badass. Haha. Check it out.

Why did you think 5.03 was dreadful?

the uncensored version was included in the Bluray version.

Yea I see that in TWD a lot. The hold back a lot of information that would've added to the episode and made it better. For example, in Episode 5.01, we didn't know that the people at Terminus were people who agreed to their Gareth's ways. I assumed they captured and killed ANYONE who got there. But in Talking Dead,
