Organized violence by extremist Muslims is not a particularly high threat

Here, let me lay it out then:

Put it to you this way: Ever seen Battle of Algiers? My takeaway is "Moslems don't like mass immigration either."

You really need to ask? Decent person. Especially given that my 'contact' with Don King was being all but literally shoved aside by one of his 20-some bodyguards in Penn Station.

No, they should all apologize for everything!

No, it does not. Racism has nothing to do with dislike of Islam.

I'd like to prioritize the old over coal. Seems like they're an abundant fuel source.

No, it does not. I've heard your argument and I do not acknowledge it.

Yes, I must indeed be aware of that. Which is why I said it in a sarcastic way.

Wow, someone's late to the Jim Sterling's Obsession Party . . .

therefore any discussion of Islam and criticism of it needs to deal with that issue

It might just be that I wasn't being entirely serious.

But more than this who practises Islam really does matter because it's inextricably tied up with racism and xenophobia

browneyestone

I'd keep it about stuff thats happened in a muslim's lifetime that they voted/campaigned etc for

What I am trying to say is that islam and christianity both suck and the world would be better without them.

Well, I don't really have a problem with 'anti-muslim rhetoric'. I don't really accept the formulation that 'deeds lead to words'. When some idiot draws a poop swatstika on a bathroom door, it isn't actually the responsibility of a university president to weigh in.

On thing Islam speaks about is helping the poor.

Alright, I'm not necessarily in disagreement with you there. But if significant majorities of Americans need to apologize for the Iraq war then it's probably also the case that significant numbers of people across the Moslem world need to apologize for, say, the invasion of Byzantium or the Sassanid empire.

We lived way, way, way East of the city but had a fairly nice, non-converted-house one-bedroom apartment (it's so much nicer when your 'roommate' is actually your spouse) for $600 a month. Including heat, water, storage, and parking.
