actually, I meant she's so good, she's a distraction from the problems of the movie.

this looks good and I'll probably give it a go, but Cooks Illustrated used to have a fantastic pan-seared salmon recipe. Ingredients: salt, pepper, 2 microns of oil and salmon. And it tastes so good. (They now suggest brining the salmon, which is unnecessary - just season the hell out of it, and let if sit for 10

wonder would this work on a skillet, at high heat, instead of on a broiler?

i want to go to there.
Excellent analysis, and that would have made a much better movie. Perhaps it was there, in one of the many many drafts that the movie went through. When ever you see north of 3 writers on a move, it has to be a bad sign.

know what you mean, but two wrongs don't make a right, etc and so on. Something more original would have been nice.
(And it was another obvious lift from First Avenger)

yeah, I wasn't sure what that was either. She seemed to be able to repel energy or produce an energy field when she smacked her cuffs together. I liked that it was a defence power, and wish it had been used to kill Ares, instead of whatever i was that happened in that interminable cgi mess at the end.

hey look it worked thanks!

he's a charming dude, but yeah, I wasn't feeling the buzz that everyone else was. And his improv bits where painful.

I'm really not sure if the movie deserves it's feminist props when SPOILER SORRY IF I DON'T DO THE SPOILER BARS RIGHT Wonder Woman only remembers her big super power because her boyfriend dies heroically. Seriously, wtf?

another good shout - that movie was just awful. Gal Gadot was the only interesting presence in the whole thing, and I have to wonder if more people would notice the problems in the Wonder Woman movie if she hadn't been there to distract.

did anyone else have a problem with her fat-shaming name? That name was a weak joke in the 40's…

that scene was so disappointing - so cliched and out of character for a friggin warrior princess to silently let him stay for a shag. ugh.

good shout: it's very long and the boring cgi-explodapalooza at the end won't be as obnoxious on a tv screen.
If you curious about it, it's worth seeing, but I'm surprised at the overwhelming positive word.

"Cruise was once in consideration to play Tony Stark, before Robert Downey Jr. took the role instead"

yeah, I think that's it. Thanks!

thats Trudy Campbell? That fringe makes a big difference.

I thought it WAS a parody in the first season and really enjoyed it. And then I caught on…

can anyone remind me what that "Doc" Shaner cover is referencing? I know it's another classic cover, but can't think which one…
(And this book looks excellent. Hope it makes it to a trade!)

ohhh, deep reference.
(actually i like that song.)

Cooks Illustrated has a good recipe for this that works, too. But the grilling tip is the buried headline here: I always grill corn in the husks, but I haven't done that whole "remove the husks, brush with butter and put them back on the grill" fancyness.
Fascinating…
