well, that makes me feel a bit queasy…

fair point.

Eddie Izzard used to come on stage after the intermission and casually mention that Prince Philip had just died. Pre-iphone, we had to believe him. It was very clever (no-one cares about Phil, really, so the stakes are low, and it was impossible to check during the show), very funny, and he delivered it brilliantly.

Actually Friggin Awesome Job, Internet.

you worked me there for a minute.

well, now you know how to put that right! To Netflix!

ok, let's go - rate his first 7 movies in order:

that's a fun movie, but it's not up to the standard of the first half-dozen. But yes, cool soundtrack.

re my comment downstream: wtf happened after Streets of Fire?
Or, less snarky: did you watch Drive and then call your lawyer?

honestly, Brewsters Millions wtf was that?

half-a-dozen seemed like a nice round number, and opinion is mixed on Streets of Fire. I like it, but I'd mark it a grade below the previous 6. But, boy the drop-off after that is scary…

oh Walter… your first 6 movies where 48 Hrs., Southern Comfort, Long Riders, Warriors, Driver and Hard Times - all in about 8 years. That's on the edge of the "Scorsese/Spielberg/Kubrick first 10 years" range. What the hell happened…

and that still only gets it a C. Ignatiy should get is resume up-to-date.

do tell - one of my favourite movies, and I hadn't heard about the production. Where did you read it?

TAKE THAT BACK *runs out of room, sobbing*

and yet all the dealers have huge bows, waiting to be stuck on the top of crippingly-overfinanced symbols of middle-class mediocrity.

I was wondering where you went…

ps just noticed your new avatar. jesus, that took a dark turn….
