also, thanks for reminding me never to watch that Happening movie.

hey, if I was an immortal head of an ancient order of assassins, they least I would do is have ridiculously sculpted facial hair, wear a lot of bright green capes, and engage in shirtless sword fights.
All seems totally reasonable to me…

he was a fierce Muddy Waters, too.

why'd you flinch, man…

it's spelt e-X-presso, ignoramuses.
Just ask Dire Straits.

not to be flipant, but i can be two things: he could have been a terrible judge and Polanski is most certainly a complete slimeball who's still evading justice.

from the Vanity Fair story:

There's every indication that the Judge made a mistake because he really enjoyed the fame that the case brought. There's a very good reason why Polanski was released after 42 days, but it looked like it was going to be ignored.
Have you read the read the Vanity Fair story?

but that's my point: he's an awful person, not a monster. I'm not saying a word that excuses what he did, I'm saying it's unfair on everyone not to have a nuanced understating of the case, and the circumstances.
And he totally needs to be punished. And he was on his way to that happening - read the Vanity Fair story:

no argument: he raped a 13-year-old girl. (But be fair - that's covered in the "he's an awful person who did a horrible thing" part.)

jesus - he doesn't really help, does he?

god, this story is the greyest of grey. He's an awful person who did a horrible thing, but the judge was an awful person who did a stupid thing, and the prosecutors where etc etc and so on.
And hanging over all of this: Polanski's wife was murdered by Manson, just a few years earlier. That's not an excuse, but if that

she's an attractive woman, but that top does NOT work for her. It's not the leather that she's regretting, it's the straps that emphasis her shoulders.

either that “Call Me Maybe” was really working at the start or I just had a stroke.

you thinking about the trailer for the first season? The show was never so brilliant again.

and thank you for that reminder of mid-90's Sharon Stone.

oooh, she made it work, though….

I'm gonna be cleaning bits of my mind off the wall behind me for days…

bon. journo.

but doooood - that brat was harshing his vibe. What are you gonna do…
