True Lies has some obnoxious politics (gender and racial) but the first 20 minutes is one of my favourite Bond movies.

Have you read the Sean Howe Marvel book - it's excellent. And Kavalier and Klay, while fiction, has a great section about the comics industry in New York in the 40's that's one of the best things I've ever read.
