oh, there's lots of flaws in Canadas history. Still haven't sorted out the aboriginal issue…

canadian irony.

the Alan Turing movie would have been better if it hadn't purported to be about Alan Turing.

disappointed to hear its not as good a movie as i hoped, but that was a really well-written, articulate review. He could have had some fun and trashed it loudly, but those are all well-considers, thoughtful points. This is what I come here for.

Sully may seem boring, but it's very good. Clint's paint-by-numbers direction was disappointing, but there's some terrific performances. And the flight recreation is fascinating, and they don't shy away from getting into the technical weeds. A science nerd dad would probably dig it.

he really is Jerry Langford, isn't he?

don't you just tell them to turn it off, then turn it back on again?
(You should and no critic should ever walk out on a movie and then give an opinion on it)

they'll come for the title but they'll stay for Roger Deakins.

fun movie but who signed off on CGI Leia? Felt like a corporate mandate, didn't it?

he was my favourite character in R1. So, I should be watching Ip Man, right?

or, the actual British actor of a certain age with sharp cheekbones who stood in for Cushing in the movie - Guy Henry.

do a google image search on Guy Henry, the actor that stood in for Cushing. He looks just like him! Just recast and use him!

hey, YOU try painting on the side of a van…

another great piece of physical acting by Hamilton: when her feet can't get traction as she sees Arnie come out of the lift. Brilliant.

you really need to see it again. Really stands up.

didn't unobtainium exist before the movie, though?
I mean, it's no excuse, but still…

it's not so much the violence in those movies, it's the dread. Alien and T1 are just horribly creepy. How is she with nightmares?

I know, right? But it's perfect. Perhaps its the "right, glad to be out of there, let's get down to business" vibe that it suggests. It's also very graceful and natural, and says a lot about how trained and fit she is now. (When you see her her tank-top and toned look in T2, compared to waitress gear in T1…)

to be fair, stubbing the cigar out on his tit probably warranted that.

"the scene where she tucks a billy club under her arm and runs down the hallway leaves a deep impression."
