From what I've read about the real Vikings they were vicious and cruel, way more than the series is showing. Enjoyed killing little children and the like. But if they really showed the Vikings in their full pagan splendor I don't know if I could watch and I doubt most people could tolerate the slaughter of innocent

I'd much rather see more action/adventure than raping the poor nuns unlike the unfortunate "Black Sails" on Starz that is about 30 minutes of sex scenes and very little action. So glad History channel can't show too much on Vikings.

I"m glad the audience was spared the rape and carnage scenes as well.

Somehow I didn't notice all the little peculiarities of the script while watching the show. I find it so mesmerizing I lose touch with the outside world and become immersed in Viking world. For this reason alone it deserves an A+ for me. Travis F. is doing a great job as Ragnar, love him!

I definitely want to read this one!
