Agh! Regis and Edwin Blackgaard were such fun characters. I love that the creatives took a bit of a break after Hal Smith's death to introduce Jason and Jack. Especially Jack's unknown reason for coming to Odyssey. The plot after Herlinger joined the show and Whit reunited with Jack was heartbreaking.

I grew up in an evangelical home, and used to listen to him as Jack Allen on the Adventures in Odyssey radio drama series. He managed to create a fascinating, multilayered character who has stuck in my mind all these years. RIP

I had an interesting conversation with Benjamin Scheuer about the topic. His show is one of the most plainly open pieces of theatre I've ever seen, and there's quite a bit of his talking about his craft on youtube and stuff. check him out.

And it doesn't actually come across as angry or bitter. I grew up in a staunch Southern Baptist household, with the True Love Waits movement and all that. It sticks with you. Thank you for your candor.
