I've seen them twice live and I've really liked them. Dan Bejar is really weird in that he kind of just wanders around. At one concert he performed a lot of stuff facing back. At another concert he wandered offstage and had to be yelled at to get back on. That said, they're really great live.

Oh hey going to the same concert! Can't wait!

New Pornographers! Seeing them tonight!

Regina Spektor - Machine
μ's - Natsuiro Egao de 1 2 Jump!
The White Stripes - Passive Manipulation
Garbage - Can't Cry These Tears
Jimmy Eat World - Work

It's not even just the south. I didn't know the extent of his popularity, but he's in Minneapolis doing an eleven concert tour stop. Eleven. At an arena. It's kind of insane.

Watched Big Hero 6 with a friend of mine and really enjoyed it. It fell into some well-tread, derivative places, but it ultimately had a lot of heart, was really lovely visually, and had a lot of humor. I was kind of worried about the cultural sensitivity of the movie, based on what I've heard about the comics, but I

uh can Film Studies majors apply for this position?

Since today is the unofficial Mass Effect Day (November 7, N7) I might play a little bit of one of the games. I haven't really decided which, as I feel like all of the games offer their own benefits and detractors. For example, while a lot of the mechanics of ME2 are way better than ME1, but I way prefer my crew in

I live in the 5th and I'm proud we continue to elect Keith Ellison with pretty high margins. Though it's not surprising, as I live in a very liberal area.

I have no idea how that's enforceable and what they do. It was the roughest on neighborhood restaurants and places that serve craft beer and nicer drinks, I think.

Yeah, I really like living in Minneapolis, but this is probably the biggest weird thing about living here. The blue laws are slowly being changed but it's still kind of bizarre.
Michele Bachmann is leaving, thank god, but her district still elected the Republican because they never learn.

Mostly proud of Minnesota and my district, but still not super jazzed about everywhere else.

Minneapolis removed one of our weird booze laws! Previously restaurants had to have at least 70% of their sales come from food and not alcohol, but now Minneapolis voters have amended that.

My nice work pants don't have front pockets and I don't like to keep things in my back pockets so nothing. :(

Watarirouka Hashiritai 7 - Bikini wa Niawanai
AKB48 - Guu Guu Onaka
Arcade Fire - Half Light II (No Celebration)
Edith Piaf - Un Jeune Homme Chantait
Kyary Pamyu Pamyu - Sukisugite Kiresou

Hang on, let me email my mom.

I think this happens a lot and is honestly part of the cultivated image of a pop star. Using an example from the JPop world, for a long time people went nuts over Ai Takahashi of Morning Musume, claiming her as one of the best vocalists in the group's history and in JPop as a whole. Ultimately she was a so-so vocalist

I really hope that Paul Scheer starts veering more and more into the Frank Stallone character. Or that Nick Kroll shows up.

Have fun! You're in for a treat.

Since I was born in 1991 I didn't get to watch this while it aired, but I used to wake up way too early (5 - 6 AM) so that I could watch Nick Arcade. Being on one of the Nick game shows was honestly my ambition when I was younger.
