"Stop watching after half of a season, that's all you really want to see anyway."

Oh my goodness I forgot how much 11-year-old Serenyty LOVED this song. I listened to Running with Scissors SO much…

Yeah, I was working a temp job, so I was not only in a soul crushing place but it didn't have any benefits or vacation time.

Job searching sucks; I'm in the middle of that now and it's not fun. I keep reminding myself how much I hated my old job, just to make myself feel better.

Flying to New York in October to see a concert! Even though I prefer other JPop groups, I've been a fan of Morning Musume for several years now, so I'm really excited to see them. Plus, I get to meet a lot of internet friends I've known for several years, so everyone's really excited about it. :)

Eclectic shuffle time!

Oh my goodness; as someone who went to a Christian middle school and a Christian high school growing up, I have a fondness for Veggietales just because that meant that we would just watch that in bible class instead of doing anything else. No one really cared that we were "too old."

Oh god I still sometimes get that stuck in my head. It will never leave.

Convention weekend! Local (Twin Cities) convention, so I didn't really do much other than go to that. So it was a lot of chatting about various pop culture things, but not watching them. I was on an X-Files panel, a Marvel movie panel, and a video game panel (which I accidentally became the moderator for?).

I went out of town last weekend and went to a restaurant. I asked the waitress if there was anything local on tap, and, beyond that, if there was any IPA on tap. She said there was an IPA on tap, and that her boyfriend really liked it because it was really hoppy and bitter. Sounds good, so I got that.

White Stripes - You're Pretty Good Looking (For a Girl)
v-u-den - Ajisai Ai Ai Monogatari
Arcade Fire - Afterlife
Momoiro Clover Z - Stardust Serenade
AKB48 (Team A) - Kiss wa Dame yo

I went to a convention! The convention was Idol Matsuri, a first year JPop convention. It went surprisingly well, given that it was the first year, and I got to see and interview the guests. I don't have much interviewing experience so that was a little stressful, but it was overall a really great time. The concerts

All the running gags in Comedy Bang Bang are pretty fantastic, but my favorite is probably the long-running relationship between Garry Marshall (Please, call me Garry) and Gillian Jacobs. The whole mythology behind Cake Boss and Paul Giamatti are pretty fantastic, too, and even the completely created characters

I have a film/media studies degree. Right now I'm not using my degree at all, professionally, but I really don't regret it. It's what I'm interested in and I like using it for my own edification. I like writing about music, media culture, television, etc and I'm looking for a career where I can do that, but I'm not

I don't even read the books and I'm all in on the "haha, GRRM doesn't finish anything" bandwagon.

Yep; and these things were papers we were using to work and we both had one beverage each (coffee mug and a water bottle). The rationale was that it looked "unprofessional."

Beats me; they claimed that our desk was messy (it was ordered and had what we were currently using on it) and said at the same time, "oh, by the way you are no longer able to use this room as your break room."

Yeah, that's generally how it goes. My coworker and I got our break room taken away from us, just because one of the executives was unhappy that we had stuff on our desks (because, you know, we're working with this stuff).

I'm mostly super excited for the new New Pornographers album coming out soon. :)

Great Lakes' beer is good, but I hear you on the lightweight thing. I have a pint out somewhere and I'm already feeling it. I also just drink beer (and wine, once in a while) because I can't handle that much alcohol.
