It can't be binged, which these days seems to work against it in many viewers' minds.

I will admit I've taken a bit of pleasure in seeing people who anticipated a pleasant nostalgia trip having their expectations confounded. Perhaps it's easy to say in hindsight but they should have paid more attention to Lynch's recent film output. He's in a different place now.

It is Twin Peaks, just the Fire Walk With Me version of it. No wonder some love it and some hate it.

After her Twitter rant she may have been edited out of the entire thing for all we know.

It isn't, but you got me: I rewatched it to double check.

That scene was one of those Lynch staples where it feels really self-conscious to start with, but the longer it goes the more you just surrender to it. As a big fan of Lost Highway it was nice to see Getty again.

The truck driver's reaction was hilarious — as though his sports team had just conceded a goal — and, knowing Lynch, it was meant to be.

It's a relatively new idea that's been intensified by the current obsession with franchises. Hell, in the 80s and further back a sequel not making more money than its predecessor wasn't even considered a big deal.

It does feel like the editor just scrapped the second half of this article.

The 'when will it ever end?' trope is a staple of 90s action movies. See also: True Lies, Face/Off.

And one Cage came up with on the day if he's to be believed.

Agree on the dumb qualifier: it actually takes level of smartness to know what tone to pitch for in any given movie and nail it.

I liked the smoker scene. It was a subversion: you think he's going to be stereotypically cool/detached with the girls then he turns out to be a rampant, aggressive dickhead.

He looked so much like Jacques from the original series I almost thought it was the same actor, even though he appears even younger.

I'm feeling absolutely fine about it so far, but ask me again in another 5 episodes.

I think Lynch is totally aware of how ridiculous it is that everyone's so indifferent to Dougie's current state. It's played for absurdity more than realism.

I miss being excited by the prospect of new music from this band.

*Thumbs up*

One By One had a couple of decent tracks, but Grohl says he hates the album now (not that that should change your opinion of it).
